Omar's wife Lyn Dykes, surrounded by friends and family, lost the fight against pancreatic cancer on December 13, 2004 at the Austin Hospice Christopher House.
Her great love and passion for music brought her together with her greatest love, her husband Omar and the light of her life, her son Jacob.
The family requests in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Jake Dykes trust fund c/o at any Bank One and the Lyn Dykes Foundation to help defer the medical expenses.

A Benefit CD-R with 9 live tracks from an Omar show in Germany 1998, plus 2 studio tracks, is available to order exclusively from webmistress Gabi in Germany.
Source for the audio tracks was a private video, so do not expect a professional recording. Anyway the material is good enough and surely a special thing to have, just listen to the sound clips. The line-up was Omar on vocals and guitar, Gary Primich on harmonica & rhythm guitar, Paul Jr. on bass and Steve Kilmer on drums. This cd is a home-made project, you will receive a self-burned CD-Rom (TDK or aquivalent quality, successfully tested on various CD players) in jewel case with photocopied cd inlays (my printer is broken; on your request I will add a floppy disk with the file of front cover for your own print out) - all to keep the production costs low and to collect as much money as possible for Omar and his young son, Jacob.
